CBD & HEMP

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Over 100 different cannabinoids have been identified, each with its own unique effects on the body. The most well-known cannabinoids include THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is psychoactive, and CBD (cannabidiol), which is non-psychoactive and is used for its potential therapeutic benefits.

The Cannabidiol, most known as CBD is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant known for its NON psychoactive properties, meaning it doesn't produce a "high" like THC, another prominent cannabinoid.

CBD (cannabidiol) interacts with the human body through the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a complex cell-signalling system that plays a crucial role of the body's ability to maintain internal stability and balance despite external changes. It is a fundamental physiological process that ensures the optimal functioning of the body's cells, tissues, and organs. Here below we selected the top 5 characteristics of the endocannabinoid system.

  1. Stability: The body keeps internal conditions stable despite external changes.
  2. Feedback Systems: Systems detect and counteract internal changes to maintain balance.
  3. Temperature Regulation: Mechanisms cool or warm the body as needed.
  4. Blood Glucose Control: Insulin lowers high glucose levels, while glucagon raises low levels.
  5. Adaptability: The body adjusts to various changes for overall health and function.

The ECS consists of receptors, primarily CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the central nervous system, while CB2 receptors are more abundant in the peripheral nervous system and immune cells. The body produces endocannabinoids, like cannabis cannabinoids and they bind to CB1 and CB2, triggering physiological responses.  When this receptor interacts with CBD it happens this effects that we are going to let you know just below in 10 lines. Pain Relief: CBD interacts with receptors involved in pain modulation, providing relief for various types of discomfort.

  1. Anti-Inflammatory: CBD has anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce inflammation and associated symptoms.
  2. Anxiety Reduction: CBD may modulate serotonin receptors, contributing to its anxiolytic effects and helping alleviate anxiety.
  3. Epilepsy Management: CBD has been studied for its anticonvulsant properties and is an active ingredient in the epilepsy medication like Epidiolex.
  4. Neuroprotective: CBD's neuroprotective properties may benefit conditions affecting the nervous system, potentially reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
  5. Sleep Improvement: CBD may have calming effects, promoting better sleep quality and potentially helping with insomnia.
  6. Mood Stabilization: CBD's impact on serotonin receptors and the endocannabinoid system may contribute to mood stabilization.
  7. Antioxidant Properties: CBD exhibits antioxidant properties, which can help combat oxidative stress and support overall health.
  8. Anti-Nausea: CBD may alleviate nausea and vomiting, making it beneficial for individuals undergoing treatments like chemotherapy.
  9. Skin Health: Topical application of CBD may benefit the skin, with potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a role in regulating various physiological processes including mood, appetite, pain, and immune response. CBD's effects on the ECS can help modulate stress, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and improve sleep quality, among other potential benefits.

Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant. It's the acidic precursor to CBD (cannabidiol) and is present in raw or unheated cannabis.

Nowadays, any company in Europe is using CBDA in their products, cause is very rare to see it in stock even in the best laboratories in Switzerland or Europe cause the extraction of it is a very long and costly operation that skyrocket the price of this precious cannabinoid. After being aware of the latest news in the cannabis industry and medical research, in May 2022 we decided to start to extract our own CBDA and implement it in some of our products such the oils, and the vapes. Here below we just let you know some of the positive points of CBDA, but saying before that research on CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is still in its early stages, and while there is some evidence suggesting potential benefits, more research is needed, so the points are:

  1. Anti-Inflammatory Properties:
    • CBDA has been investigated for its potential anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammation is associated with various health conditions, and substances with anti-inflammatory properties may have therapeutic potential.
  2. Cancer Research:
    • Some studies have explored CBDA's potential in inhibiting the migration of breast cancer cells. However, these studies are preclinical, and more research is required to understand the implications for cancer treatment.
  3. Nausea and Vomiting:
    • CBDA has been studied for its potential anti-nausea and anti-emetic effects. It may interact with serotonin receptors, which are involved in regulating nausea.
  4. Potential Anxiety Reduction:
    • While CBD is more commonly associated with anxiety reduction, some studies suggest that CBDA may also have anxiolytic effects. However, further research is needed to confirm and understand the mechanisms involved.
  5. Cannabinoid Synergy:
    • CBDA is often present alongside other cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Some researchers suggest that cannabinoids may work synergistically, enhancing each other's therapeutic effects in what is known as the "entourage effect."

We really would put some emphasis on the point number 5, cause is one of the main reasons we started to extract our own CBDA and adding it into our Oils first and in our full spectrum vapes later.

Oils and extracts containing CBDA helps to increase the ratio of absorption of the CBD present in them by the human body and receptors CB1 and CB2, proving that the synergy of the CBDA with the CBD is fundamental to get a completely absorption of the CBD into the body.

CBG, or cannabigerol, is known as the "mother of all cannabinoids" because other cannabinoids are derived from its acid form, CBGA. It is present in lower concentrations in most cannabis strains and is being researched for its potential neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

CBN, or cannabinol, is a cannabinoid that forms as THC ages and breaks down. It is less psychoactive than THC and is being studied for its potential benefits in promoting sleep, reducing pain and inflammation, and offering neuroprotective effects.

CBC, or cannabichromene, is another non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis that is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties. It is of particular interest for its potential to contribute to the overall therapeutic effects of cannabis through the entourage effect.

Medical research on CBD is ongoing, with studies suggesting it may have various therapeutic benefits, including reducing anxiety, alleviating pain, improving sleep disorders, and possibly contributing to the treatment of certain health conditions like epilepsy. However, more research is needed to fully understand its effects and potential uses. The FDA has approved a CBD-based medication for the treatment of certain forms of epilepsy, highlighting its medicinal potential.
